Privacy & KYC Policy
Degenphone prioritizes user privacy while maintaining compliance with telecommunications regulations. The KYC requirements are minimal compared to traditional carriers.
No KYC
You can purchase, own, and use Degenphone numbers without providing identity documents. No passport required. No address verification. No government ID.
This applies to buying numbers during sales, purchasing from marketplace, unlocking numbers, and receiving SMS. The platform doesn't collect personal verification information for these activities.
Your wallet address is the only identifier tied to number ownership. This provides pseudonymous usage similar to other cryptocurrency applications.
What Happens When Numbers Become Inactive
The NFT remains in your wallet. You still own the number as a blockchain asset. You can still sell or transfer the NFT.
Only the telecommunications functionality stops. The number no longer connects to carrier networks so it cannot receive messages or calls.
You can reactivate the number later by completing the KYC process if the restriction is lifted, or the number may remain permanently inactive depending on the severity of reported violations.
Your Responsibility
You're responsible for how your numbers are used. Don't use Degenphone numbers for:
Fraudulent activities or scams. Mass spam or unsolicited marketing. Harassment or threatening communications. Any activities illegal in your jurisdiction or the number's origin country.
Telecommunications regulations apply to Degenphone numbers the same way they apply to traditional phone numbers. Legal standards don't change because numbers are tokenized.
Data Privacy
Degenphone collects minimal data about users. Wallet addresses are recorded for ownership verification. SMS content passes through the system to display in your dashboard but is not stored long-term.
The platform doesn't sell user data or share information with third parties except when legally required by telecommunications regulations or law enforcement requests.
Your wallet address and transaction history are publicly visible on blockchain as with all cryptocurrency applications. This is inherent to blockchain transparency, not a Degenphone policy choice.
Regulatory Compliance
Degenphone operates within existing telecommunications regulations by partnering with licensed carriers and following standard industry practices.
The blockchain ownership layer adds a new model for number assignment, but the underlying telecommunications infrastructure remains fully compliant with regional regulations.
