Blockchain & Smart Contracts

Degenphone uses blockchain technology to enable true ownership of phone numbers as NFTs.

NFT Structure

Each Degenphone number is represented as a non-fungible token following standard NFT protocols on its respective blockchain. The NFT contains metadata including the phone number, rarity tier, origin status, and prepaid service information.

When you own the NFT in your wallet, you control the associated phone number. Ownership is verified on-chain and cannot be disputed or revoked by centralized parties.

Smart Contract Functions

Smart contracts automate the connection between blockchain ownership and telecommunications access.

Ownership Verification: Contracts continuously check which wallet holds each NFT. Only the current owner can access the number's telecommunications features.

Automatic Transfer: When you sell or transfer an NFT, the smart contract automatically updates telecom access rights. The new owner gets full control while the previous owner loses access immediately.

Marketplace Logic: Smart contracts handle listing, pricing, and sale execution on the marketplace. When a buyer purchases, the contract transfers the NFT and routes payment to the seller minus fees.

Prepaid Service Tracking: Contracts record when numbers are activated and track remaining prepaid service time. This data transfers with the NFT during sales.

No Manual Intervention

The entire system runs automatically through smart contracts. No customer service approval needed for transfers. No paperwork for ownership changes. No waiting periods beyond vesting when applicable.

This automation is what makes phone numbers function as true tradable assets rather than carrier-controlled accounts.

Contract Security

Degenphone smart contracts are deployed on established blockchains with proven security. Contract code handles ownership logic without requiring trust in centralized parties.

Your NFT stays in your wallet under your control. Smart contracts cannot transfer NFTs without your explicit transaction approval. The platform accesses contract functions but never holds custody of your assets.
