Prepaid Service Periods

Each Degenphone number includes prepaid telecommunications service. The duration varies by release type and tier.

OG Numbers (First Release)

OG numbers from the initial 1,100 mint include 5 years of prepaid service. This applies to all OG numbers regardless of rarity tier. Whether you hold a Common or Legendary OG number, you get 5 years prepaid.

The 5-year period starts from the number's activation date, not the mint date. If you hold an OG number without activating it, the prepaid period doesn't begin until you unlock the number for use.

All Other Numbers

Numbers from Vault Auction, future sales, and other releases include 2 years of prepaid service. This applies regardless of rarity tier. Common, Silver, Gold, Diamond, and Legendary numbers all receive 2 years prepaid.

Like OG numbers, the 2-year period starts from activation, not mint. You can hold numbers indefinitely before activating without consuming the prepaid service.

After Prepaid Period Ends

Once your prepaid service expires, a small annual fee is required to keep the number active. The exact fee amount is announced before the first renewal period.

If you choose not to pay the annual fee:

• The NFT remains in your wallet (you still own it)

• The number becomes inactive (cannot receive SMS or calls)

• You can reactivate anytime by paying the annual fee

• No penalty for letting it lapse

This model gives you control. Pay when you want to use the number, don't pay when you don't. The NFT ownership never expires.
