How Degenphone works?

Degenphone connects blockchain ownership to real telecommunications infrastructure through integrated systems working together.

NFT Layer

Each phone number is represented as a non-fungible token on blockchain. When you purchase or mint a Degenphone number, an NFT is created in your wallet. This NFT proves ownership of that specific phone number. The blockchain records all ownership transfers, making the history transparent and verifiable.

eSIM Infrastructure

Degenphone partners with a telecommunications provider with carrier relationships across Europe and the USA. These partnerships give Degenphone access to Tier-1 telecom networks, the same infrastructure used by major carriers. Your number routes through real telecom systems, not virtual or app-based services.

Smart Contract Coordination

Smart contracts bridge the gap between blockchain ownership and telecom activation. When you transfer or sell your Degenphone NFT to another wallet, the smart contract automatically updates the telecom access rights. The new owner gets full control of the number's functionality while the previous owner loses access.

Access Interface

Users manage their numbers through a web-based dashboard at degenphone.xyz or via the Telegram mini app. SMS messages arrive in this interface. When voice calling launches, it will work through the same system. You don't need physical SIM cards or carrier apps.

Privacy Design

No KYC documents are required for basic ownership and SMS functionality. The system doesn't collect personal verification information. If a telecom provider reports illegal activity on a number, the user may need to provide KYC or the number becomes inactive after 30 days. The NFT remains in the wallet but service stops.
